The 1904-08 Herero Genocide
The OPMRF asserts that the German colonial government committed genocide against OvaHerero People between the period of 1904-08. The genocidal committed were:
- German colonial troops intentionally killed innocent women and children as per General Von Trotha infamous order against OvaHerero on October 2, 1904
- German colonial troops strategically and intentionally pushed the OvaHerero into Omaheke direction with the intent to kill them knowing the harsh physical environment
- German colonial troops murdered and burned to death the old and children who were unable to flee
- German colonial troops set up concentration camps with the intent to further kill the OvaHerero survivors through deliberate starvation policy
- German colonial troops set up concentration camps with the intent to use OvaHerero survivors as slave and forced labor in the construction of railways, buildings and by renting out survivors to German settlers to work in their farms
- German colonial troops raped women and young girls that currently altered the genome makeup of the OvaHerero people
- Germany colonial troops intentionally drove the OvaHerero people as part of the displacement policy outside the country into Botswana, South Africa and some went further into Angola due to the pursuits
- German colonial troops committed acts of violence against the survivors by hanging them and forcing women to cut off and boil their heads
- German troops in complicity with their scientists contacted pseudo- experiments on the survivors for racial scientific experimentations
- German colonial troops and settlers confiscated all OvaHerero livestock with intent to impoverish and deprive them of livelihood
- German colonial troops forcefully confiscated the entire ancestral land of the OvaHerero people
- German colonial troops at the end of the 1908 had exterminated between 80 -85% percent of the OvaHerero nation, including doctors, poets, religious, political, and cultural leaders
- German colonial government paid Reparations to the German settlers whose properties were allegedly destroyed by the OvaHerero during the war
- Germany refuses to acknowledge and issue a full meaningful apology to the OvaHerero people
- Germany refuses to take full responsibility and accountability to pay repair and restore the OvaHerero people for the crimes they committed
